Time is flying by with so many different things happening in school. This week, Year 5 visited the National Maritime Museum where they explored the naval history of our great country. Just before half-term many people were treated to an incredibly entertaining evening by Tim Parsons and Nick Reynolds, who played an ensemble of songs on two pianos. Everyone who attended the evening was very impressed though Aaron Alexander nearly stole the show when he accompanied Nick. It was a resounding success and £437 was raised towards new lights for the hall.
This week sees the start of the annual Book Fair which gives you the opportunity to buy books in the school hall. For every book bought, the school is able to purchase a book.
It was superb to see so many of our children participating in lunchtime running, where we challenged the children to run a course several times to help us select a squad of thirty to take to Highdown to practise. Thirty Year 5 and 6 children and an incredible fifty-eight year 3 and 4 children participated. Well done to you all! Especially well done to the thirty children selected to train for Highdown. From these thirty, six boys and six girls will be selected to run in our Inter Schools Cross Country challenge at Highdown on Monday 22nd March at 4pm.
